LEE COMMISSIONERS OK CONTRACTS FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, MEDICAL EXAMS

Lee County commissioners approved more than $4.6 million in annual contracts Tuesday with service providers for substance abuse/mental health treatment services and initial medical exams/consultations for children under the suspicion of abuse. 

During the fiscal year 2020-2021 budget process, the commission allocated funds for mental health and substance abuse treatment programs for children and adults; and initial medical exams and consultations for children under the suspicion of abuse. 

SalusCare Inc. will receive an amount not to exceed $4,425,451 for FY 2020-21. Funds are needed to satisfy the required match for state funding and sustain the current level of service for the purchase of core mental health and substance abuse treatment services for adults and children.

Children’s Advocacy Center of SW Florida Inc. will receive an amount not to exceed $250,000 for FY 2020-21 to pay for medical examinations and consultations.
