The City of Cape Coral will host a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Friday, September 11 outside City Hall (1015 Cultural Park Boulevard). The event, which begins at 8:30 a.m., will pay tribute to the lives lost on 9/11.
The event will include brief remarks from Mayor Joe Coviello and City Manager Rob Hernandez. During the ceremony, there will be an invocation and a radio all tone and announcement at 8:46 a.m., which is when American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. There also will be a moment of silence, and laying of a community remembrance wreath at the base of the national flagpole.
While the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony is an outdoor event, attendees are asked to wear masks and adhere to all social distancing guidelines.
