With new safety measures in place at the courthouse, the Florida Supreme Court has given approval for jury trials to resume in Lee County. The Lee Clerk of Courts has been directed to begin reissuing juror summons for trials scheduled to begin on Sept. 14, 2020.
To ensure the safety of all courthouse visitors and staff, jurors will undergo the CDC-recommended mandatory health screenings upon entry to the courthouse. Temperatures are checked at security checkpoints and face coverings are required while inside the building. Common areas are continuously cleaned, hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the building, and social distancing is enforced.
“If you are selected to serve as juror, please be assured that your health and well-being remain our first priority,” said Linda Doggett, Lee County Clerk of Courts. “Jurors will be processed efficiently with all social distancing requirements being followed throughout their service.”
