This past week saw several employees of the Cape Coral Police Department honored for their performance above and beyond the call of duty at this year’s Annual Award Ceremony.
The ceremony was held Tuesday, February 25th, at the Cape Coral Yacht Club. It featured the Southwest Florida Pipes and Drums, presentation of the colors by the CCPD Honor Guard, and remarks from Mayor Joseph Coviello, City Manager John Szerlag, and Chief Dave Newlan.
New police officer and civilian hires were highlighted, as well as years of service benchmarks for those reaching five, ten, fifteen, twenty, and twenty-five years of service. Those promoted and retired in the past year were also honored.
