Burrowing Owl Festival

Saturday: Celebrate Cape Coral’s official City bird during the 18th Annual Burrowing Owl Festival – Wildlife and Environmental Exposition at Rotary Park from 10 am-4 pm. This annual festival event is sponsored by Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife and Cape Coral Parks and Recreation. This is a fun day for the whole family, filled with entertaining and educational programs, hands-on activities for children, live animals including birds of prey, reptiles, baby gators, and more, plus guided nature walks, butterfly house tours, bus tours to active owl burrows, a silent auction, as well as Love Boat Ice Cream and other tasty treats for lunch. Saturday: The Southwest Florida Reading Festival presents Author Talk. Meet local author Carol Freeman, author of “The Cape Coral Caper: Murder on the Caloosahatchee” and “The Cape Coral Casanova: Murder on Crimson Court” at the Lee County Library in South Cape. From 3 – 4:30 pm, hear some of the hilarious behind-the-scenes stories and enjoy a sneak preview of her newest book.
