A fatal motorcycle accident occurred Saturday night, November 30, 2019, at 6:04 PM on Del Prado Blvd S at Beach Pkwy E.

  • DRIVER 1: Linda A. Lewis, W/F, of Cape Coral, FL.
  • DRIVER 1 INJURIES: Lewis suffered minor injury in the crash.

  • DRIVER 2: Cody L. Fultz, W/M, of Cape Coral.
  • DRIVER 2 INJURIES: Fultz died, suffering fatal injuries in the crash.

SYNOPSIS:

Vehicle 1 was traveling south on Del Prado Blvd S, approaching the intersection with Beach Pkwy E, and entered the center median left turn lane.

Vehicle 2 was traveling north on Del Prado Blvd S in the center lane approaching the intersection with Beach Pkwy E at a high speed.

Motorcyclist Dies In Weekend Crash

Vehicle 1 turned left onto Beach Pkwy E into the path of Vehicle 2. Vehicle 2 collided with the right front quarter of Vehicle 1. The driver of Vehicle 2 was ejected from the motorcycle and came to rest on the right edge of the north lanes of Del Prado Blvd S, approximately 134 feet north of the area of impact.

The collision forced Vehicles 1 and 2 to the northeast. Vehicle 1 came to final rest on the east side of the intersection, facing to the northeast. Vehicle 2 came to final rest leaning against the right side of Vehicle 1. 

The driver of Vehicle 1 suffered minor injury in the crash and was transported to the Hospital. The driver of Vehicle 2 died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The motorcyclist was wearing a safety helmet at the time of the crash.

At this time, alcohol/drugs ARE AN UNKNOWN factor in the traffic crash. Next-of-kin HAVE BEEN notified. Del Prado Blvd S at the intersection with Beach Pkwy E, as well as several connecting roadways, were shut down for approximately 6 hours.
