Three Juveniles Arrested After Being Stopped in a Stolen Vehicle

Around 2:00 am on November 14, 2019, a Cape Coral Police Officer saw a gray Nissan, Altima driving without its headlights or taillights on. The Nissan made a right turn from Mohawk Parkway into the parking lot of the Neighborhood Walmart. The Officer stopped the Nissan in the 3700 block of SW 8th Place.

Once the Nissan stopped, the three juveniles in the Nissan all fled on foot. A perimeter was quickly set up. Aviation and K-9 Officers responded to the scene. All three suspects were located and arrested a short time later.

The Nissan was not reported as stolen at the time of the traffic stop. Officers went to the registered owners residence to find out who had permission to drive the vehicle. The owner did not know that the vehicle had been taken and reported it stolen. Dalton Montes DeOca, Chastin Hanisch and Gavin Sprague were arrested for vehicle theft and resisting without violence.
