Cape Coral Police Employees Donate To The Cape Coral Caring Center

The Cape Coral Caring Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization in Cape Coral. They are a food bank servicing underprivileged residents of our city, with many of their recipients being children. This is their most taxing time of the year due to a combination of reasons such as: seasonal residents (donors) have gone north, and children are out of school (most underprivileged kids get their meals from free school breakfast and lunch). The pantry is very low and they are in need of help to stock it for the summer.

This message was sent to the Cape Coral Police email list by Deputy Chief Anthony Sizemore. The Cape Coral Police employees began to purchase food to donate to the Cape Caring Center, and it became a challenge between the different divisions of the Police Department.

On July 1, 2019, District Resource Coordinators Jason Criazzo, John Tsourkas, Commander Tazkoma Burgoyne and Master Sergeant Patrick O’Grady delivered the food bought by the Cape Coral Police employees to the Cape Coral Caring Center.

The staff at the Cape Coral Caring Center was very thankful for the delivery. The weigh all the food donated, with today’s delivery weighing in at 805.2 pounds.

“We are very proud of the Cape Coral Police employees who took the time to donate to such a great organization that gives back to our community.” ~Master Sergeant Patrick O’Grady, CCPD Public Affairs Office
