LCSO, CCPD combine for Narcotics Bust

On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Highway Interdiction Team, along with agents from the Department of Homeland Security and the Cape Coral Police Department, concluded a narcotics investigation into a known drug dealer, Printiss Lavon Garlin (DOB 7/29/75).

A suspicious package, destined for a residence in Cape Coral, was intercepted coming from a foreign country. Agents quickly discovered the package contained more than 500 grams (1,000 tablets) of the highly dangerous drug MDMA, commonly known as Ecstasy.

During the investigation, detectives obtained probable cause to obtain a search warrant at Garlin’s residence at 1706 NE 2nd Street. A search of the residence revealed additional narcotics, including 16 grams of Fentanyl, two (2) firearms, drug paraphernalia, and $6,715 U.S. currency suspected to be proceeds from illegal drug sales. Garlin is a convicted Felon in Lee County, with almost forty (40) prior arrests.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Garlin was arrested on several narcotics related charges, including Trafficking in MDMA, and Smuggling Illegal Narcotics into the State. Garlin was additionally charged with being a Felon in Possession of Firearms. The $6,715 of U.S. currency was seized for forfeiture.

“This is yet another great example of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office along with partner agencies combating illegal, dangerous drugs” stated Sheriff Carmine Marceno. “If you push poison on our streets I have a room for you at the Lee County Jail.”
