Man looks, plans, and then steals two rings from Kohl’s valued over $20,000.
On January 5, 2019 around 11:41 AM, the Cape Coral Police responded to a call for service at Khol’s located at 513 SW Pine Island Rd in reference to a grand theft.
A Khol’s employee assisted a male that came to the jewelry counter as he looked at a few different rings around 10:41 AM. At approximately 11:09 AM, the male said he would be back once he made his decision and left the store. At 11:15 AM, the male came back into the store, dropped a rag near the door-jam, and proceeded back to the jewelry counter. The male stated he decided he wants to purchase the two rings. The employee pulled the two rings out of the case that he was interested in and took them out of the boxes for the him to look at one more time before he made his purchase. The male tried on one of the rings, and quickly picked up the second ring and ran out of the store.
The male is described as white, dark red hair with a receding hairline with hair combed down. The male was wearing a black sweatshirt with a white design over the left breast, short blue shorts above the knee, and bright green shoes. The male got into a white older model Chevy Tahoe with a sunroof which was backed into a parking space in front of the store. The value of the rings are over $20,000. Cape Coral Police Property Crimes Unit Detective Dan Iten responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
