On November 19, 2018, around 5 PM, Cape Coral Police responded to a call for service. This was in reference to a vehicle burglary at the 1100 block of NE 33rd ST. It was found that several items were taken from inside the vehicle.
On November 20, 2018 around 5:30 AM, Cape Coral Police responded to a call in reference to a stolen vehicle at the 2400 block of NE 6th PL.
A Cape Coral Police Public Service Aid was completing some paperwork in the area of the crimes when she saw three subjects walking. She recognized one of them as the suspect from surveillance footage (below).
Officers quickly responded and made contact with the three individuals. A Cape Coral Police Property Crimes Unit detective responded and continued with the investigation. The detective was able to obtain enough evidence to determine that two of the three individuals, Nathan Ian Grames (W/M, DOB: 08/01/2000, of 616 NW Douglas Pkwy) and Gavin Gregory Lloyd (W/M, DOB: 12/23/2001, of Cape Coral), had committed the crimes; vehicle burglary and Grand Theft Auto.
Both were arrested, taken into custody, and processed at the Cape Coral Police Department. Grames was later transferred to the Lee County Jail and Lloyd was later transferred to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
Grames was charged with Burglary of a Vehicle, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and Grand Theft.
Lloyd was charged with Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle.
