Cape Coral Financial Advisor selected as 40-under-40 honoree

Al Rich, CRPC® never stops looking out for people. Whether it’s focusing on helping his clients succeed in his role as a Financial Advisor for the Nolte Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, or serving his community through a litany of projects and initiatives, the former law enforcement officer is committed to making Lee County a better place.  Gulfshore Business magazine has selected Rich as one of its 2018 40-under-40 honorees.

“I’m honored, but this isn’t really about me,” Rich said. “It’s about all the people I can help, through my work, my family, and my service through the Rotary Club of Cape Coral and the Cape Coral Community Foundation.  It’s about the 39 other honorees who are doing amazing things for Southwest Florida. I am humbled to be regarded among them.”

Since 2003, Gulfshore Business has annually recognized young leaders who have distinguished themselves in their professions and in the Southwest Florida community. Rich and the 39 other honorees will be honored during a reception on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at Miromar Design Center.

Rich strives to distinguish himself through his down-to-earth approach with his clients and his constant willingness to give back. Unlike many in his profession, he didn’t major in finance. He simply picked up a copy of a financial industry book one day while he was still in the midst of his 10-year career as a police officer. He let his curiosity take him from there.

“When I decided to change careers and become a Financial Advisor, I wanted to lead by example for my children,” Rich said. “I wanted to be able to instill financial literacy in them so that they will make wise, responsible decisions as they grow. I work to do the very same for my clients.”

The Cape Coral resident is a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor through the College for Financial Planning. Away from the office, Rich makes God, family and service his priorities, in that order. He’s a member of Cape Christian Church along with his wife, Erica, and their young children, Karmen and Garret.

Rich plays a prominent role in several local service organizations. He chairs the United Way’s  Sandoval Community Campaign and sits on the allocations committee for the United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades and Okeechobee Counties. He’s a board member for the Rotary Club of Cape Coral, the Cape Coral Community Foundation.

Somehow, Rich still finds time to help even more people. He ran in this year’s Boston Marathon. His purpose was to raise money for a scholarship dedicated in honor of a fallen officer who was an unsung hero of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.

“Every one of us who has served in law enforcement understands the duty we have to our brothers and sisters in blue,” Rich said. “A marathon is only a small step in the never-ending journey to protect and to serve.”

In his limited free time, Rich enjoys running, cycling and traveling with his family. To find out more about his work with the Nolte Wealth Management Group, visit noltewealthmanagement.com.
