Making weekend plans?  Check out these 5 things to do this weekend in Cape Coral:

Hometown Teams: Sports in American Communities Exhibit

Thru August 11th: There’s nothing more typically American than our love of sports. Everywhere you travel in this state and country, its importance is clearly interwoven into the fabric of our daily lives, from playgrounds to mammoth arena, from gatherings around big-screen televisions to cheering in high school bleachers. Nowhere do Americans more intimately connect to sports than in their hometowns. The Smithsonian‘s Museum on Main Street program will celebrate this connection in the new traveling exhibition Hometown Teams: Sports in American Communities. The exhibit will be on display until Aug. 11 with an opening reception on July 6 from 5-7 p.m. at the Alliance for the Arts.
