City Manager John Szerlag has issued a burn ban, effective immediately. The temporary measure is intended to limit fire hazards within the city during this period of drought conditions.
“The lack of rain has created very dry conditions,” said Szerlag. “We must take steps to limit potential fire risk by issuing the burn ban.”
The burn ban prohibits most open burning with the exception of barbeque grills. This temporary measure will be in place until the City Manager declares a drought emergency no longer exists.
