Cape Coral will begin its second pass of Hurricane Irma debris removal on Monday, November 13. The second pass will be the final opportunity for hurricane debris pickup. The second pass will be for both vegetative and C&D (e.g. roofing materials, damaged fencing and pool screens) hurricane debris. The City’s contractors are expected to complete the first pass of debris removal for the entire City by the end of day on Sunday.
All hurricane-related debris needs to be placed curbside by Monday as multiple crews will begin pickups in various locations throughout the city. Items placed curbside after the second pass will not be picked up and will require compliance with the normal Waste Pro pick-up guidelines. Residents should continue to keep piles of vegetative debris separate from C&D debris. This will allow the haulers to remove as much debris as possible and in an efficient manner.
The public drop-off site for hurricane debris near Pine Island Road and Andalusia Boulevard will be closed after this weekend. Residents can drop off vegetative debris only at the location Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12 from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. Proof of residency is required. The site will be closed for drop-offs Monday, November 12. This site will reopen to the public with free mulch once enough mulch chips are generated. Further details will follow.
Please note the debris storage sites used by City contractors are not open to the public.
