Military Appreciation Day

Veterans and current members of the military and their families can get a haircut and apply for a job at the sixth annual Military Appreciation Day.

In honor of our military troops and their families, Lee Health’s Military Support Program will again take part in the annual event set for Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Christian Church, 2061 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers.

All military and their families are welcome to join in the festivities, which begin with an opening ceremony. Brunch will be provided, as well as daycare services (with a reservation). Shop the free PX, receive assistance with VA benefits, get a haircut and a massage.  In addition, there will be health screenings and dental exams (reservations required for dental exams.)

University and colleges will be onsite to discuss educational opportunities. This year, CareerSource Southwest Florida is bringing Paychecks for Patriots. This is a special hiring fair that matches military and veteran candidates with current open positions, to Military Appreciation Day.

For more information, to volunteer or to make daycare or dental exam reservations, please call the Military Support Hotline at (239) 343-2045.
