Bakery café becomes area first to proudly offer Java D’oro organics
In honor of the new year, exciting changes are coming to beautiful Cape Harbour Marina’s popular European-style bakery café. The French Press has become the first coffee house or restaurant in Cape Coral to offer the sumptuous organic selections of local roasters Java D’Oro Gourmet Coffee. It has introduced an expanded menu of delicious fare to accompany that brew, and will soon offer a delectable new Sunday brunch.
Songbirds will have lots to crow about, too, with a new open mic format starting Wednesdays.
The French Press proudly serves distinctive single-origin 100% organic coffees by Java D’Oro including the earthy Sumatra Mandheling. The essence of a well roasted bean comes through in the Espresso Supremo, which cappuccino and latte lovers will now be able to enjoy with organic milk. Even die-hard caffeine lovers will crave the Mayan Swiss Water Decaf morning, afternoon or night. It is processed in an organic, chemical-free fashion to comply with Java D’Oro’s stringent USDA Organic Certification.
Savvy consumers will find it easy to stick with their resolutions while satisfying their craving for conscientiously-sourced organic coffee from a Cape Coral roaster that is Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance certified. Coffees are roasted daily at Java D’Oro, and go beautifully with The French Press’ delectable crepes, which are all gluten-free.
Fresh, seasonal, quality ingredients will continue to play the starring role in The French Press’ expanded menu of lunch items including paninis, soups, salads, quiche and sandwiches. Organic milk is used in the 24 flavors of gelato, which change depending on seasonally available fruits. The selection of beloved Norman Love Confections is also bigger than ever, including individual truffles, gift boxes and pastries, plus cakes available for preorder.
If eating foods crafted and sourced with integrity is on your list of new year’s resolutions, you can stick with them and reward your self-discipline at The French Press Sunday brunch. Starting in mid-January, these celebrations of flavor, friends and family are worth waiting all week for. Between 8 a.m. and noon, enjoy unlimited bubbles – champagne, mimosas or Lemon Champ (a fizzy blend of lemon gelato and champagne) – plus the breathtaking view of the marina.
Good taste comes in many forms at The French Press. The listening room environment and rich local talent that has been nurtured during Wednesday Open Mic night from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. has prompted a switch to a new Songwriters Open Mic. Papa Tommy continues to host, but will provide writers’ forum breaks throughout the evening to encourage lively discussion about inspiration and process.
