Cape Coral Community Foundation Welcomes Nationally Recognized Philanthropic Leader as New Executive Director — Michael Chatman

After a 6-month national search, the Cape Coral Community Foundation (CCCF) is pleased to welcome Michael Chatman as the new Executive Director.  Chatman joins the CCCF after working as the Senior Vice President of Philanthropy at the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.  There, he concentrated on building generosity throughout a network of 49 regional affiliate foundations in Missouri.

NonProfit Times Magazine has recognized Chatman as one of the most influential philanthropic leaders in America.  With more than 300-thousand followers on Twitter, Chatman is also known as one of the nation’s leading social media influencers in philanthropy.  You can find his Twitter talk show #WHYIGIVE @michaelchatman.

“We believe that Chatman is the perfect fit to lead our Community Foundation,” says CCCF Board Chair Brian Gomer.  “Our organization is entering a new phase of maturity and growth. Chatman’s experience will help us to gain national recognition as we continue to focus our giving to meet the needs of Cape Coral.”

Chatman is a graduate of Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s degree in political science and a post-graduate degree in entrepreneurship from the Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program.

“I want to express my deep appreciation to the board for their confidence in me and for allowing me to play a leadership role in this historic undertaking,” says Chatman. “The decision to reposition the Cape Coral Community Foundation to become a national leader in charitable gift planning–with the hope of increasing unrestricted dollars to benefit charities throughout Southwest Florida–is both innovative and unique.”

Chatman looks forward to returning with his family to Florida, where he once worked in Miami as a senior corporate responsibility consultant for the Anheuser-Busch Foundation.

The Cape Coral Community Foundation was founded in 1973 to create a funding source to benefit the Cape Coral community.  Visit: www.capecoralcf.org.
