Fall Pumpkin Spice Potpourri

There’s nothing like the smell of Autumn to warm up your home! There’s no disguising a clean home with the touch of Pumpkin Spice Potpourri! Its bright pumpkin, apple and clove scent will add a fresh touch to your home.

Make a DRY potpourri:

This is a simple recipe that requires 2 cinnamon sticks, orange peels and mixed dry cloves.

To dry the orange peels: peel orange, scrap excess off and either air dry or bake peels in an oven at 150 degrees until the rind is dry.

Break the cinnamon sticks up slightly to release the fragrance and mix nutmeg, cloves, and dried orange peels in a glass jar then, place a square fabric or cheese cloth over the top to let the potpourri breath and use the rubber band to hold it in place. Place the jar where ever you want in the home: kitchen, bathroom, living room or bedroom.

Make a simmering stove-top potpourri:

½ gallon apple cider
1 cup canned pumpkin
3 cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon whole cloves

Directions:
Fill a saucepan ¾ full with apple cider. Mix in pumpkin, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and whole cloves. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce to low heat. When the mixture gets low, add more apple cider (or water if necessary). Be sure not to let the mixture burn.

Enjoy the smell of Autumn in your home!
